COOKIE POLICY — XALVEN

1. WHAT COOKIES ARE

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on the user's device when they visit it. They allow the site to remember information about the visit in order to improve the experience.

2. COOKIES USED BY XALVEN

XALVEN uses only strictly necessary technical cookies for the operation of the service. No tracking, advertising, profiling or third-party analytics cookies are used.

First-party cookies (technical/essential)

Technical note: The session token is stored in the browser's localStorage, not as an HTTP cookie. This places it outside the technical scope of the ePrivacy Directive on cookies, but it is documented here for transparency.

3. THIRD-PARTY COOKIES

CARTO / OpenStreetMap / Leaflet

Displaying maps requires loading "tiles" (map images) from CARTO's servers, which distributes cartography based on OpenStreetMap data. This technical communication may involve CARTO recording the user's IP address in its own server logs. XALVEN does not control those records. Neither CARTO nor OpenStreetMap set tracking cookies in users' browsers through the map tiles.

4. COOKIES NOT PRESENT

XALVEN does not use:

• Advertising or retargeting cookies
• Third-party analytics cookies (Google Analytics, etc.)
• Social network cookies
• Profiling or cross-site tracking cookies
• Automated marketing cookies

5. MANAGING LOCAL STORAGE

The authentication token stored in localStorage can be removed at any time:

• From the app: Settings > Sign out (removes the token automatically)
• Manually: browser developer tools > Application > Local Storage > xalven.app > delete token

6. CONSENT BANNER

Since XALVEN does not use non-technical cookies, it is not legally necessary to display a cookie consent banner under Spanish rules (LSSI-CE and ePrivacy). Nevertheless, this Policy remains available to ensure maximum transparency.

If analytics or advertising cookies were to be introduced in the future, a granular consent banner will be implemented before they are activated.

7. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

If new categories of cookies are introduced, this Policy will be updated and users will be informed in advance. The version in force will always be available at xalven.app/en/legal/cookies.
